In Tetris, players manipulate a sequence of tetrominoes, geometric shapes composed of four square blocks each, as they fall into a playing field. The objective is to rotate and position these tetrominoes to form horizontal lines of blocks without gaps. When such a line is created, it disappears, and any blocks above it fall down to fill the vacant space. This process earns the player points, and the game continues with increasing speed. The game ends when the stack of tetrominoes reaches the top of the playing field and no new tetrominoes can enter. The challenge lies in managing the placement of tetrominoes to maximize space utilization and score, while preventing the stack from reaching the top.
